Makeup: Blush, Eyeliner, Lipstick - Recommendations

@coco I totally agree about opacity. I don't think I use any makeup at full opacity. If anything, I keep the sliders way to the left!

I am about to fire up my game and I am thinking I should try to use some of the makeup I have acquired over time. Wish me luck!

I don't think successful makeup depends on what you use as much as on how you apply it, both in Sims 3 and real life. In real life I don't wear makeup any more but even when I did I went with the "less is more" philosophy, plus I was just too lazy or too late for work to take the time to apply much. :)

So I tend to a more natural look for most of my sims. Neither males or females get eye shadow, although in the past I have used some on particular sims, mainly rock star male sims. All of my sims, both males and females, get this EA eyeliner:

It gives a suggestion of lower eyelashes.

Here is Johan from my current game in CAS and playing a video game. Because his hair is so light I made this eyeliner a light ash brown and at about 60% opacity it hardly shows up.

I didn't use any other makeup on him.

Here is Kaitlyn from my current game in CAS and painting. I made the color for her a darker brown and at about 60% opacity it does show up subtly.

On Kaitlyn I used a blush/contour that came in on a download of a sim from the exchange when I first started playing but some times I use PralineSims Silk Foundation.

I think she's referring to MasterController's layering options where you can pick more than one makeup/accessory per category.

Makup can be cloned and made for another category with a special program, like S3OC, and a few clicks. I haven't done that with makeup, but I have made socks for the "glove" category so they can be used on top on stockings. :smile:

InfraGreen was right in that I was referring to MasterController settings. It's called 'Multiple Makeup Per Location'.
