Nraas Traveler Issue

@igazor :p

I am trying to make my lovely Matthew stay in Isla Paradiso for a few days so he can scuba dive and collect the sea creatures, but I've ran into an issue.

When I click on the houseboat I want him to stay at and hit the check button to play, nothing happens. I click the boat, click rent, click the check and then nothing. No spinning loading, nothing, and so I have to quit via task manager.

I'm wondering if it's because when he left last time he left the houseboat in the middle of the ocean so it isn't at a port, and so maybe something has glitched with that one so I'm currently reloading and will try selecting a different one and see if it works or not.

This is only the second time I've traveled to a non-WA world, but I have not messed with any of the settings or anything.

Open to suggestions for what is going wrong and what to try.

Edit: selecting a different lot does not work.

Edit Two: removing the IP data from the save folded worked, but I'd like to not have to do that every time.
  • @Karritz I'm not sure if it's the same issue?
    For clarification:
    Isla Paradiso loaded fine, and asked me where I wanted to stay. I clicked the same houseboat he had stayed at his first trip, and clicked rent. It appeared successful and so I clicked the check mark to start playing, but upon clicking it it grayed out (after making a clicking noise) and then nothing happened. I could click on the house tag again, and click rent again, and still nothing. I could even click on other available lots and rent those. But because the check mark was still grayed out from the initial click it still would do nothing. It never started spinning or anything, it just did nothing. The only two choices were lessons and options, meaning to quit I had to go to the desktop.
    It was only the second time he had been there, and he only went 8 days the first time so I don't think it was from being played too long / memory issue, unless it's related to the homeworld of Lucky Palms being played for 7 weeks, but he hadn't been in Isla Paradiso for too long.

    @cleo00 I have no idea if it's the same issue or not. All I was saying is that's what happened to me and this is how I fixed it. It's up to you if you want to test to see if dropping your graphics settings helps or not. It was over a year ago now that it happened and I didn't get a video of exactly what happened. I think it was spinning. But even if mine did get to spin and your's didn't it may not necessarily mean if yours doesn't spin then it can't be a memory issue. Temporarily dropping the graphics settings reduced my memory use enough for me to be able to get into the world and get several of my sims out. Coincidentally, once I got it working I took the opportunity to move several households from Legacy Island III to Lucky Palms if I remember correctly.

    I had this happen with Isla Paradiso and the traveler mod once. I tried to have my sim travel back to IP after moving from there to another world. Mostly I wanted to save the house that I had built there to the bin. I could choose where I wanted my sim to stay but then nothing would happen. After posting on the nraas site and getting advice from Igazor, I ended up traveling to IP without a sim. I was able to save the house and then abandoned that game.
  • Well like I said it was only my second time going to a non-WA world, so maybe I will try again with a different world like maybe ï¹°Bridgeport or something and see what happens...if it's an IP thing or not.

    I've been traveling between worlds, many worlds including WA worlds and my sims are living in Isla Paradiso so there's been a lot of travelling. I've also, in a separate game, sent a sim from my Big Game with many worlds in it, to Isla Paradiso to do some diving.

    What I'm saying here is that, if you find you can travel to some other world, don't assume that Isla Paradiso is some unique world that sims can't travel to.
