You already do have the choice, wants popping up aren't particularly relevant...you only have to fulfill the ones you choose. I don't really see how adding a specific selector will change anything that's actually relevant. I get wants I don't want to fulfill ALL the time...simply not adding them to the active wants list is all it takes, which means the only action necessary is a NON-action. You want to replace that with an actual action...that's a little wierd, imho.
I think adding such a selection option would cause controversy. Yes, you can currently make any sim you actively control lean one way or the other, but the game itself never explicitly asks you to make a choice. Add in the option where "homosexual" and "bisexual" are right there on the screen as choices and you end up with a ton of bible thumpers banging down EA's doors for condoning alternative lifestyles which corrupt family values, blah blah blah. Yes, it's crazy, but it's exactly what would happen.
I also meant (and forgot to add) in the first post that even with story progression off my Sims start unwanted relationships. I mean, it's not a HUGE deal, it's just one of those minor little annoyances.
In the Sims2 there's an option within the boolprop cheat...where you could choose "Interested in...men, women, both" and choose one of those options. That's more along the lines of my thinking..
But I agree. Someone would be offended.
