Thanks @phoebebebe13 and @AxelTaylor01 I think I'll buy the desktop
your welcome! I went looking on their web and they have factory but offer less for same price. I would go for this one if it is in your budget
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229626
also I should add if you go for this one post back when you get it if you need help setting up your Nvida card. You have to add the game to the video card its easy and one of us on the board can help you"phoebebebe13;13397470" wrote:

factory means the factory put together the computer to their specifications. Custom means they will build it to your specifications but with custom you need to know what you are doing. Its like building your own computer. Most people who don't know how to build their own computer will buy factory and what the stores sell. pre built"AxelTaylor01;13397521" wrote:
Your welcome @pri4321. I'm not sure I was really any help tho. I would go with the desktop, the GTX 970 is a really good card. :)
If I had the money I would buy that computer right now but my laptop is only a year old! I do want a desktop but that will have to wait. This is why I dont like helping people look for a computer because I see things I want LOL- @pri4321 Do you know anyone or a friend that can build a pc for you? You would save more money just by buying the parts and putting it together.

GTX 970 is a very good card but it's a bit overkill for just the Sims 3 and 4 unless you plan on playing other demanding titles. GTX 960 will serve you enough. Note that the 970 technically only has 3.5 gb but I won't go into detail. "AxelTaylor01;13397647" wrote:

I feel feel your pain. I got a laptop and even though I loved it, I had wished I had gotten a desktop after a while. My laptop was only 2 years old when died in Feb. :'( Which is why I have now sworn off of laptops for gaming. That build is very tempting, but I can't live without an sdd. If it had one I'd go for in a heartbeat.
I chose getting a laptop over a desktop but I did by a gaming laptop. Its been running fine and I love it. I just also want a desktop. I got the laptop so I can wheel it around on a portable desk. Its great with an adjustable bed. Much more comfortable than sitting at a desk. My laptop is really heavy so I use it like a desktop."phoebebebe13;13397561" wrote:

Well your not the only one!
But I have made a promise to myself to not indulge in upgrades that are not completely needed, I brought my laptop and truth be told I have hardly used it. its almost 2 years old and cost a fortune."Stymie;13397660" wrote:

Kind of have to agree.. just for ts3 the 970 is overkill.. its a higher end gaming card for more demanding games. The 960 is still extremely fast for any game."Stymie;13397660" wrote:

If I win lotto ill send you your card and me some ram! LOL I love my laptop and I use it all the time. I want the desktop like I want more ram in my laptop. I want these things I don't need them :p If I get a desktop I can't use it while reclining on the adjustable bed!!! I will have to sit at a desk!
