@jillbg
This is about my experiences in Twin Towns.
Fortunately, I got a copy of this post before hitting post discussion button - as I was told I'd see my post after it is approved.
--------------------
Here is the bit I fortunately kept a copy of.
I was looking for a new place to put my Sims from my game in Sunset Valley (2nd Edition Final). I took only 130 of them with me to Twin Towns.
This is the link to my thread on this game and the starting family trees of the main family are on page 1 of this thread.

---------------------------
Apart from the existing families I packed up and moved to Twin Towns from my existing game, I added a few other families I had stored in my library. These were families I'd played in various games since I got Sims 3 in June 2009.
Because I already had so many Sims to add to the world I needed it to be empty. If it hadn't been empty I would have totally annihilated the population before moving my sims into it.
The Sims I moved include all family members of my main family plus a small number of Sims in my original world. A few of my recently aged up young adults had teenage sweethearts I left behind in Sunset Valley. I'm hoping they will forget them since they are Sims and Sims apparently are good at doing that sort of thing.
The family I am currently playing is not related to my main family. It is a household of unrelated young adults I got from my library.
Most of them were not in the Sunset Valley game. If they were there, I hadn't played them much and I got fresh versions of them for this household.
I decided their main income would be from gardening and I use the Stones Throw Greenhouse as my main source of seeds. I always add the Humble Harvest Stands from the Al Fresco Street Market to my Greenhouse lot as my gardener Sims can consign their harvestables there.
I looked around for two empty 30x40 lots for my two Savvy Seller stores. They require 25 x 35 lot but I've found that sized lot is difficult to find in any world so I've been using 30x40 lots for them. I found one flat empty lot I could use and then I ended up using a larger lot for the other store. These stores also have a humble harvest stand as well as other consignment registers and items I would need to get from buy mode of BuyDeBug. I find it easier to send a Sim shopping for these items and so I like to include both stores in my games.
My current main household will eventually break up, but in the meantime they are together - even if they don't want to be. >:) They already had a lot they lived in and I saved it to my library to place them and their lot into the new world. I thought I needed an empty 64x64 lot and couldn't find one. I then discovered a 60x60 would have been the better way to go. I had a huge garden planted in the basement and didn't want to have to start it again from scratch. Their living areas are very rudimentary and the design of the above ground portion of their home is ugly. My difficulty was in finding a suitable lot on which to place this beginning of a home.
I don't play with horses much and there are none in this current game, so I bulldozed the beach race track, even though it looked like it would be a lot of fun to have horses racing there.
I placed my Sim's existing house on the beach - I am looking forward to demolishing everything that is above ground and replacing it with a series of castaway type structures that hide spiral staircases down to their actual home.
One of my Sims was in the Singing Career and while I was off sorting out some of the other Sims story progression gave her a job as a rabid sports fan. That wouldn't help her achieve her lifetime wish of being a Vocal Legend. I had a quick look around Twin Towns and couldn't immediately find a Showtime proprietor. So I deleted the Boardwalk lot and replaced it with my Magic Gnome's Magical Treasure Park lot. This allowed her ask the proprietor at that lot to join the singing career. It is a lot I find I often send my Sims to so I like to have it in my game. It has a roller coaster and a tractor for giving rides. I made it before the gondola was released or the tractor would have been a gondola.
Next I couldn't find the Stones Throw Greenhouse, and I did find an empty 40x40 lot so I turned it into a hangout and added the greenhouse lot. Then I found the existing Greenhouse in Twin Towns and bulldozed the one I had added and put the Al Fresco Street Market lot in its place.
I added Humble Harvest stands to the Twin Towns Greenhouse lot and my Sim has used them to consign her produce. She hasn't sold any yet but I am hopeful it will happen soon as the game is just becoming established.
I placed the Al Fresco Street Market on the now empty 40x40 lot and added a few things in the hope of attracting Sims to it. It now has the Teppanyaki Grill, Pizza Oven, Barista Bar and Bistro Oven. I rearranged the building a bit to get them all in. I also added a ping pong table. I've seen a few Sims start to go there.
I'm still setting up the town and haven't found where all of my Sims are living yet. I think I'll generally leave them alone as the game is moving them about frequently at the moment.
Here are a few pictures taken from around Twin Towns.

I occasionally add a subway station to this lot and I have done that for this world.

As you can see, I have big plans for that basement.

I don't think he had an audience that day. He's tried performing for tips at various places around town but had no luck there either. The first audience I saw him with was at the Al Fresco Market and that was the last time he tried so maybe the game is beginning to cope with his performances and beginning to give him an audience.

The household official gardener, Maggie Flower was thinking about using her tractor to do some harvesting.

Maggie was originally made as an Adult and she was an adult sim in my Sunset Valley version of this game, but I changed her to a young adult for this version.
That's about as far as I've got screenshots for at this stage. I'll report back later.
