- To be fair, it's not the intent of the message to entice us to remove EP/SP's from already established ongoing saved games as in many cases that would ruin them. They mean for us to consider doing so when starting up new games and then keep only the selected packs in play for those saves going forward. For those who manage multiple games at once, it would then instantly become a challenge to remember which packs should be in play for which games.
But as long as our computers can handle the packs we have installed, there is no need for all of us to seriously consider doing this. And, not all of us even routinely start up new games as we continue to push our years old ongoing saves along. :) - @IreneSwift Thank you, I did not know that about the hammer tool. Good to know. B)

Is this a digital download thing only? I play using hard disks on patch 1.67 and haven't seen the message.
It is a "feature" of Patch 1.69, only available to users of Origin regardless of whether the installs were disc or digital. You are likely just fine staying on 1.67."nickibitsward;15098955" wrote:
When I let Origin update as I haven't in forever, I noticed it automatically lined up updating Sims 4 and then updating to the 1.69 patch. I cancelled that action but I'm wondering if doing anything through Origin will trigger it again? I have automatic updates untucked on the launcher.
It's supposed to ask your permission to update TS3 in that case (when you are using it to update a different game). As you have seen, apparently that doesn't always work right. You should be okay as long as you watch the update procedure carefully and cancel out if it tries to do that again.- LaBlue0314New ScoutYes you have to be very careful, it got sneaky on me, and I ended up with it.
- I don't even have Origin installed. And yes, I'm still using 1.67.
- I'm on the 167 patch and can disable expansions with the game selector tool from MTS if I want to play just some of them for setting up a save file for a world I created to populate it and share a populated save.
- SimplyJenNew SpectatorThis is mainly for those with systems that can't really run the complete collection. I use it for a challenge I'm playing. Each generation unlocks a EP and every other generation unlocks a SP. I'm doing it in release order. Currently on generation 3.
Before patch 1.69 I was using the game selector tool from MTS for a brief moment (same challenge). "Simasaurus09;15100000" wrote:

Very interesting idea."Simasaurus09;15100000" wrote:

That's a great idea. Also for players who are just starting with the game and find it somewhat overwhelming. And variety will come to your generations automatically that way (like when we played in the Sims 3 'era' and were limited to what we had till a next package was released).
