Hey everyone. :) I've been playing Sunset Valley (along with the W mod) and I just made some CRAZY things happen yesterday and today with the Langerak Family. Hee hee ;) Well, I thought I would pick on this family for the fun of it. They seemed to have some dysfunction going on. Iliana (the mom) is a workaholic, Dustin (the dad) is lazy but loves family (he was in the criminal career when I started playing them. Not a good suit for his personality so I made him quit. He now has a part-time job at the bookstore). Their daughter Kaylynn seems to take care of everything while her older brother Parker, rebels and pays more attention to wooing girls than anything else. And to add craziness to the family, Iliana's sister Zelda Mae needed a place to live so, in she went. That is the original story of this family. Now for what I did to them. Lol! ;) Iliana didn't like how much of a slob Dustin is and he in turn didn't like how much of a workaholic she is. And little did Iliana know that her husband and sister were...doing a lot of romantic things in secret while she was at work. ;) Well, for a while she didn't know but then she was able to catch on. In anger she turned to her secret crush from work (Thornton Wolff) and begin having romantic relations with him. Meanwhile the kids are not exactly sure what has been going on...and Dustin and Zelda Mae had a risky woo hoo one night. Zelda got pregnant days later. At this time Dustin decided he had enough with Iliana and divorced her. Iliana then moved in with Thornton. Later, minutes before Zelda went into labor, Dustin proposed to her. The kids were pretty happy about it, they never saw much of their mother anyway. (Funny, this new baby would be their half-brother AND cousin...weird. ;) ) A baby boy was born and they named him Link (sorry, I couldn't help myself ;) ). Dustin and Zelda go off on a honeymoon and leave Parker and Kaylynn to care for the baby and the home while they are gone. (Seriously?) Well, Dustin asks the girl he's had a crush on for a while to Prom (River McIrish) and they go together and end up falling so hard for each other they become boyfriend and girlfriend. The next day, with the parents still gone, Parker is DYING to see River again and goes over to her house. They get frisky and...I'm pretty sure River is pregnant. Lol! And that's where I left my game for today. Had to get back to reality. :) I love how I can screw up sims lives or make them do things I would NEVER DO!!! It's so much fun! ;)
So what happened in your game today? Can we keep this thread going for a while? :)
MAJOR UPDATE (July 23rd, 2024): ^I can't believe I asked that and then 10 years later here we are. π Oh what a beautiful ride it has been. π
Anyway, due to the fact that this thread is thousands of pages long with hundreds of thousands of comments, you will for sure want to click on the drop down box below, off to the right a little, and choose "Newest" to see the newest posts on this amazing thread or you will be clicking the "More" button for all of eternity! π€£ And yeeeeah you don't want to be doing that. π¬
Also, due to the migration to the new EA forum here, 95% of the pictures shared throughout the years in each post will not show up...so if you're wondering where all the images went, they unfortunately disappeared into the internet void. (Also those who posted via Photobucket before big changes were made on that site, lost photos years ago). Anyway, just a friendly FYI. π
But yeah, let's see how much longer we can keep this thread going y'all! π And please - cause I am still here and plan to stay here for as long as I can - do share with me...What happened in your Sims 3 game today? π
I speant the past few days working on getting Praaven set up.(My HM story is still ongoing. I got lots of stuff planned for that!)
In the heart of Camelot, the grand halls of the castle were quiet, the usual hum of activity stilled in the late hours. In his private chambers, King Arthur stood before a tall mirror, dressed not in his customary royal garments, but in the rough-spun tunic and trousers of a peasant. The simple clothes felt strange against his skin, a far cry from the finery he was accustomed to, but that was precisely the point.
Merlin, his ever-faithful advisor, hovered nearby, his brows furrowed with concern. βThis is folly, Arthur,β he insisted, his voice tinged with exasperation. βThe king has no need to walk amongst his people disguised as one of them. It is dangerous, and unnecessary.β
Arthur tied a coarse belt around his waist and looked at Merlin through the mirror's reflection. βI need to see with my own eyes, Merlin. To understand their struggles, their joys, and their sorrows. A king who does not know his people cannot truly rule them.β
Merlin sighed, stroking his long beard as he searched for a way to dissuade his king. βYou have always had a heart too large for your own good, Arthur. But do you not trust the reports of your knights, or the wisdom of your council? What do you hope to find that you have not already been told?β
Arthur turned to face Merlin, his expression resolute. βI trust them, but there is only so much they can tell me. I need to feel the earth beneath my feet, smell the air of the marketplace, hear the voices of the common folk without the weight of the crown on my head. Only then can I be the king they deserve.β
Seeing the determination in Arthurβs eyes, Merlin knew there was no use in arguing further. βVery well,β he conceded, though his tone was still heavy with reluctance. βBut take care, Arthur. The world is not as kind as you wish it to be.β
Arthur nodded, a small smile touching his lips. βI will be careful, old friend. Now, let me see the world beyond these walls.β
With that, Arthur slipped out of his chambers, moving quietly through the castle until he reached the bustling streets of Camelot. The city was alive with the sound of merchants hawking their wares, children laughing as they played, and the steady hum of conversation. He blended into the crowd, just another face in the throng.
As he wandered through the streets, Arthurβs attention was suddenly caught by a commotion near the edge of the marketplace. A lady, dressed in fine clothes, and her two daughters were laughing as they walked away from a young girl who knelt on the ground, frantically trying to gather a pile of spilled goods. The bags and items had been deliberately knocked from her hands, and the lady and her daughters were clearly enjoying the sight of her distress.
Arthurβs heart tightened with anger at the sight. He took a step forward, ready to confront the women, but they were already disappearing into the crowd, their laughter echoing in the air. The young servant girl was left alone, struggling to collect the scattered items, her face flushed with embarrassment and frustration.
He approached her quietly, bending down to help gather the fallen goods. βHere, let me assist you,β he said gently, his voice soft but filled with the authority he could never fully conceal.
The girl looked up, startled by the unexpected kindness, and for a moment, she hesitated. But then, seeing only a peasant before her, she nodded gratefully. βThank you, sir,β she murmured, her voice trembling.
As they worked together, Arthurβs mind churned with thoughts of the injustice he had just witnessed. He knew he could not let it go unchallenged, even if he was not recognized as the king. The weight of his crown might be absent, but the responsibility of his role remained ever present in his heart.
As Arthur and Ella finished gathering the last of the scattered items, he noticed her hands were trembling. The fine mist of tears glazed her eyes, though she blinked them away quickly, as if used to swallowing her pain. Arthurβs heart ached at the sight, and he wished for nothing more than to undo the cruelty he had just witnessed.
βThank you, sir,β Ella repeated, her voice barely above a whisper. She straightened up, clutching the now-packed bags to her chest. Her eyes flickered nervously toward the direction in which her stepfamily had vanished, fear and resignation mingling in their depths.
Arthur stood, dusting off his hands. βYouβre welcome, Ella,β he said, the name slipping naturally from his lips. He could tell by her startled expression that she hadnβt expected him to know it. βIt is Ella, isnβt it?β
She nodded slowly, still unsure of this strange, kind peasant. βYes, sir. Howβ¦ how do you know my name?β
Arthur smiled, trying to put her at ease. βI have a way of knowing things,β he said cryptically. βTell me, Ella, do they often treat you like this?β His voice was gentle, but there was an edge to it, a deep concern that he couldnβt hide.
Ella hesitated, glancing around to make sure no one was listening. βTheyβreβ¦ my family,β she said at last, as if that alone explained everything. βMy stepmother, Lady Tremaine, and her daughters, Anastasia and Drizella. Theyβ¦ they donβt mean any harm.β The words sounded hollow even to her, as though she were trying to convince herself more than him.
Arthur frowned, his resolve hardening. βNo harm?β he echoed. βElla, what they did to you just now was cruel. No one deserves to be treated that way, especially by their own family.β
Ella looked down, her cheeks flushing with a mix of embarrassment and shame. βItβs just the way things are,β she said softly. βI have to do what they say, orβ¦ or things will be worse.β
Arthur felt a surge of anger toward the stepmother and her daughters. He clenched his fists, wishing he could do more than offer words of comfort. But in this guise, he was just a commonerβpowerless to command justice in the way he could as king.
But he could still be a friend.
βIβm sorry, Ella,β Arthur said, his voice thick with sincerity. βBut you shouldnβt have to endure this alone. There are people who would help you, you know.β
Ella looked up at him with wide eyes, surprised by the offer. βWhy are you being so kind to me?β she asked, her voice trembling again. βYou donβt even know me.β
Arthur smiled, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. βBecause itβs the right thing to do, Ella. Everyone deserves kindness, especially when theyβre going through hard times.β
For a moment, Ella seemed on the verge of tears again, but she swallowed them down, nodding gratefully. βThank you, sir,β she said quietly. βYouβve already helped more than you know.β
Before Arthur could respond, the sharp voice of Lady Tremaine pierced the air. βElla! Where are you, girl?β
Ella flinched, her momentary reprieve shattered. βI have to go,β she whispered, panic creeping into her voice. She hurriedly gathered the bags in her arms, her eyes darting nervously toward the direction of her stepmotherβs voice.
Arthur nodded, understanding her fear. βGo on,β he said gently. βBut remember, you donβt have to accept their cruelty. There is always hope.β
Ella cast one last, lingering glance at Arthur, a mixture of gratitude and sadness in her eyes, before she turned and rushed off, disappearing into the crowd.
Arthur watched her go, his heart heavy. He knew he couldnβt leave things as they were. As he turned back toward the bustling streets of Camelot, he silently vowed to find a way to help Ella, no matter what it took. The king in disguise might have been powerless, but King Arthur, ruler of Camelot, would see justice done.
graceymanorsSeems you're able to post again on here. πYay. ππ»
Great beginning to the story. β Did you crank out all that awesomeness last night? πOr have you been writing it for the past few days while setting up your game? Either way, I enjoyed it. π Arthur is very handsome.
Just stopping by to drop a screenshot to say that I am still here.
Grandmas Kitchen
This picture is something like 20 years old from the time when MySpace was a thing... but you know, grandma has always been so nice and never judged, because grandmas are just awesome like that. Also, grandmas food was the best.
Here's an AI enhanced version of the same picture. This image is part of something I have to finish before I can resume regular game play.
Of course, I didn't look like that when I was a teenager, mostly because I'm male. Details have been changed, but the story is still true.
I use krea.ai - https://www.krea.ai/home - I go to enhancer and then its a simple drag and drop. The AI might not always understand what's on the picture, so its probably useful to look at and edit the prompt it suggests.
Nice to see you again Sprot. π That AI image looks amazing! β And MySpace was fun back in the day. I feel like it was better than Facebook has ever been......
My fairy Leif has never really given a second thought to firefighting after his best friend Cayenne joined the profession. However, that all changed when he went to visit her one fateful day.
I never take screenshots but this situation was just too funny not to immortalize
Yikes!! It looks like fire-sims aren't as fireproof as one might think! Lucky Leif was there since none of Cayenne's coworkers seemed to be too concerned about the situation
thanks guys you're really a credit to this town glad to know we're safe in your hands
Nope, not too concerned at all...
maybe it's time to think about a career change?
Thanks to Leif's quick thinking, Cayenne was saved!
^hero!!
It seems Leif may have found his calling after all!
CororonI guess you probably won't see this tag, but sorry to see you go. π’ But I get it. π Hopefully when this place is cleaned up, we'll see you again. Until then, Happy Simming. {{{{Hugs}}}}
(Nevermind. I immediately found a small fix. Such as my luck. I make a post or comment asking for help and then I find the solution moments later. XD I didn't noticed the little thing that says Most Liked at the top that I could switch to Newest.) I'm so confused how this website works... x.x I'm trying to look at the most recent comments, but it keeps showing me comments from 2 months ago. Every now and then I might run into a comment from say 10 days ago. Is there a way I can just make this show me recent comments?
ButterWafflesARRight below the very first post on every thread, there's a drop down box (off to the right), click on that, and then choose "Newest" and then the page will refresh and show you all the newest comments. ππ» By default it's set to show you "Most Liked" (which is probably that post from 2 months ago that you saw) and many people have complained about that so they are working on disabling it and making it to where the most recent posts are seen first. It just takes time, sadly. But it'll get there. π
It no let me like your comment. D:< But thank you for the help, Emorill. I didn't figure it out after a few minutes of making this comment, as seems to be my luck. XD But still thank you for replying. :3 This seems to be a common thing for me. I have trouble, ask for help, THEN I solve the problem. -u- Not all the time, but it does happen a lot. lol
Back in Bridgeport for a day of building and play.
I'm working on this section of the city near the waterfront, mostly small businesses, offices buildings and old apartment complexes on top.
I am working on a bookstore and glass jewelry gallery located near the waterfront of Bridgeport. The lot has a rabbit hole restaurant, 6 open office spaces with old apartments above and a small city flea market in the back with the savvy sellers' rug and a greasy food truck.
Top view and back view of the lot.
The back of the lot will have parking spaces for customers, and employees. A bus stop is on the lot for storytelling.
The bookstore and jewelry gallery are unfinished.
It's always raining in this city or snowing when I decided to build. This lot has a long way to go, I'm still recoloring furniture and objects and decorating spaces. I'm taking my time and only adding to the lot when I play my sims because the lot is part of their story line. I'm building the lot as ideas or scenarios that fit my sims stories happen.
Just getting the flea market set up. There will be more layers added as I play. We don't have very many vendors today...it's a weekday. The place is usually crowded on the weekends.
The second level of the bookstore will have an apartment space for sims to relax in when they are visiting the lot. Artist studios are above the glass sculpture/ jewelry store.
Playtesting the lot with my jewelry artist Tracie Parrish.
She is looking for a book on metal stamping.
She needs to head home soon and get ready for date night. She's got the best sushi in Bridgeport and a hot chef waiting for her!
Its good to see you and everyone else as well!! This is still a little confusing to me, because I can't tell where the older comments are and the more current comments are. x.x Its going to take some time to get used to. π
