If you use s3Pe, try uninstalling s3pe and then reinstall it.
That should re-assigne package files to s3pe (or at least give you the option to do so)
Were you not able to remove the association or is the icon still there ?
It should not influence the way package files work.
Both.. the icon is still on every package file, even the UserPresets and I couldn't remove it. I have s3pe but it wasn't an option.

If you or someone can reply one more time, I had to re-install my sims and I did exactly what you told me to, all packages are associated with s3pe, and all icons are s3p's, is that okay? Can it work like that? xP
Yes. That's fine.
If you double click on a file they'll be opened with s3pe but the game itself does not care about the associated program.
