All Sim's Relationships Have Disappeared upon Going To University

Hi,

I recently sent two young adult Sims to University. One of them seems to doing fine - his home relationships remain the same (although they are shaded out while at university as per usual), and his relationships page has added the appropriate new people (such as his professor and various classmates).

My other Sim, however, has had all his home relationships completely disappear from the relationship panel, apart from those few people he's met in his dorm. He's now alone in his family tree, which previously had his parents and uncle, and even his professor and classmates aren't showing up as relationships. What's more, it seems that every time his phone rings he does the 'refusal' action and hangs up (as if he's saying no to someone asking him out over the phone) and it doesn't tell me who called or anything. He also tends to disappear and reappear in a different position a fair bit when he tries to do certain actions- particularly any actions that would add or affect anything in the relationship panel - for example he cannot introduce himself to a new sim or speak to an existing acquaintance without getting reset.

I looked around but wasn't able to find a fix for this, and this is completely ruining my game, so any advice would be great!

I'm playing on Windows 8.1 and have the EPs University, Seasons, Generations and Pets installed.

    @Trouillefou   just got back online i have uploaded the files to mediafire one with the  family/ lot and one with the family only i have dl'd the files my self and installed placed in game to make sure they worked everything looked good in my game the sims have their items in their inventory and with the lot the family inventory items are there too

    Update: I tried having the sims drop out (both together and separately) and the game can't load their home town anymore, so yes, seems like a corruption! Really frustrating, since I'd been maxing out their skills and home relationships since toddlerhood, but I guess there's nothing I can do to salvage it now?

    Do you have a backup of the save? You could try starting the save from that

    I tried this, but unfortunately the backup was from after the corruption had occurred! Shame I didn't notice the problems earlier. :S

    Thanks for your help! Anyone know of any other fixes for this, or am I helpless?

    I wonder.... You never had any backups that you just deleted pre the current backup? 

    I would personally try playing around the files but I don't really know if that would help much. I'd be willing, if you uploaded the save file to an external site, to download it and try fiddle around with it. 

    Maybe the other helpers will have an idea

    same here if you could upload the save of the game to media fire or something like it pm the link to andro and my self and i'll pop it in mygame to see if your sims and or the game your playing can be saved

    edit to add an update up till now i've been busy with your game ( came on here for a wee break ) so far i have gotten the game to load up and it loaded up in uni have just got your boys to the end of the first week at uni I'l get back to it in a bit and try get them through the finals and get the degrees The next thing i'm hopeing is to get them  to the  homeworld  from there if successful am going to try three things to get you a good save of the game to return to you or at the least  i'l be doing my utmost to save the family and i can get them back to you or save the family and start a new game with them and get that save to you i am determined to save the whole family will report back later

    edit edit update Q. do you know these people and this house ?

    now it took me from the time i dl'd the files until now to finally get the boys back home it did take a few real hours to but they are now  home   , there is a save game corruption of some sort now the only thing i can do which i need  to see which way you would like  to go with this

    1 i'll be hopfully able to save the family to the libiary then export the file upload it to media fire or some such you can then grab the family and install them to your game then from your libiary place them in a new game to start uni again

    2 would you like me to save the lot too with the family ? and upload that as well

    3 as you know up to 8 sims can be in a household is there any other 4 members of the family you would like me to add to this houshold and save and export them ?

    4  save the family with/without lot with/without other members  to my libiary then start a new game to move them in just to get the game going save and quit then copy the files for you and upload that save game

    Yes, those people and that house are the family I was hoping to get back! (Just to confirm - is that Newt, Hermann, Jacob and Illia living in the house? If so that's all correct!) If you could save the family and lot I'd really appreciate it. If possible, there should be some people in the neighbourhood - Monica Schwartz, Dieterich Gottlieb, Karla Gottlieb and Bastien Gottlieb - that I'd appreciate if you could add to the family as well, but no pressure!

    @yeah that's Hermann in bed  i can do that for you move the others in and save the lot and household  will send you an @ message when i have it done

    edit to add have merged the other sims to the household and have exported them also uploaded to media fire i'm at the moment testing the dl which dl'd correctly am now insatlling the household to my game to see to ensure they install and place in game correctly
