Application failed to launch

For some reason after I recently updated my game it hasn't let me open up the launcher since. a message comes up saying: application startup failed, unable to copy file/applications/the sims 3. localized/thesims3.app/contents/resources/preferences/update_g
amekeys.reg to/users........
