Hey @maya2694 this error generally means that something is blocking the install.  Can you ensure that your firewall and anti-virus are not blocking Origin and that you also have the ports for Origin open.

    The ports to open are:

    • TCP: 80; 443; 9960-9969; 1024-1124; 3216; 18000; 18120; 18060; 27900; 28910; 29900
    • UDP: 1024-1124; 18000; 29900

You can also try turning off the routers firewall to see if it helps.

  • @maya2694  The error is because you're running Catalina, and Catalina doesn't support any 32-bit apps, including Sims 3.  There's no way around the problem.  But EA has announced a 64-bit-compatible version of TS3 for macOS, to be released some time this year.  Here's the full announcement:

In the interim, your only options are to play on another computer, or to run a second operating system on your Mac (via Parallels or Bootcamp; or use an external hard drive instead).  If you only just bought the game and don't want to wait, you can request a refund from EA.
