Can’t use any items from generations in the sims 3

I’ve recently downloaded the sims 3 for the first time ever and I bought a few packs. Everything was fine at the beginning but at some point I wasn’t able to use any items from generations whether that was in CAS(Removes the sim’s body part.Like for a shirt it would removes the sim’s torso) or build/buy mode(Can’t place on lot )even though the icons of each items show up in my game. My sim doesn’t even spawn with the camera that comes with the pack. I do have mods installed but only Nraas’s mods and lazyduchesse’s smoothpatch. Can anyone help a simmer out?

  • @Simmer59  If you've added the .package file(s) that come with the Smooth Patch, please remove them.  The files that go into the Bin folder are fine; I'm referring to the ones that go into Mods > Packages.  These are incompatible with some NRaas mods, to the point that one has been removed from the download page.

If this doesn't help, try deleting and redownloading Generations.  Wherever you installed the game, there will be an EP04 folder inside "The Sims 3," which you can drag to the recycling bin.  For example, these are the default install locations for the EA App and Steam:

    C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 3

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 3

If you've installed through the EA App, make sure the App is closed and the EABackgroundService is NOT running in the Task Manager before trying to move the folder.  Either way, login to the game launcher you're using and you should be able to install Generations again.  In Steam, you might need to uncheck the box for Generations and then re-check it.
