If that doesn't help, try signing into the store site ( store.thesims3.com ) and downloading from your purchase history (Store > My Store Account > Purchase History). You don't need to be signed into the launcher for this to work.
Thanks, but I've already done this. Should I do it again? I did it twice, the second time making sure that all the boxes were checked, deleting all browsing data. And also, I've already been trying to download the item from my purchase history. I don't think I should need to be logged in on the launcher, and I never had any trouble logging in on either end until now.
@meeble980 Try using Firefox to download the content; it's generally the most reliable way to use the store. If that doesn't work, please let me know what happens when you try to download or install your store content, as in, where the process goes wrong.
As a test, you can also move the existing Sims 3 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, open the launcher to spawn a new one, and try downloading into that folder. You don't actually need to start from scratch. Once the items are downloaded, you can move them from the new Sims 3 folder to the old one (they go inside Downloads), trash the new folder, put the old one back, and install the content through the launcher.
