@buffysimmers97 I moved your thread to the dedicated Sims/mac section, where you'll get help specific to mac OS.
There are two distinct issues here. The first is that Origin Access is only available for Windows. So you won't have access to Late Night and HELS on your mac. I'm actually surprised that you could download the base game, but Origin doesn't always work the way we expect.
On the other hand, you could try a workaround that seems to help with the downloading issues. Start by running the Origin reset tool for macs:
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/
When you launch again, be sure to decline Origin's offers to collect your data and automatically update itself and your games. Then hover over your username at the bottom of the Origin window and select Application Settings. Under Application (the first tab), scroll to Client Update, and enable Automatic Game Updates. Then quit Origin and relaunch; the app should offer to download any packs you don't currently have installed.
For the issue with buying expansion packs, there is currently a workaround. Please see this post for more details:

Thank you for your help puzzleaddict! I apologize for the late reply--I was in the process of moving at the time and I haven't been back to my Sims games until now. Happy holidays!

@buffysimmers97 No worries about the lateness of your reply—people get busy all the time. Hopefully you'll have more time to play now.
The workaround for buying packs shouldn't be necessary anymore; EA believes the problem has been fixed. It you still have trouble, please post back, and I'll pass along the info.
If you have any other trouble installing, we can help with that too. Just list the packs you'd like to install.
