Can't change hair / hair color

When i go into 'Create a Household' or when i go to change a sim's hair from 'Change Appearance', i click on the hair tab but nothing shows up. It zooms in like its going to show me the list but it doesn't. I cant change the hair color or hair style. It's extremely frustrating. I don't have any custom content, but the things i do have installed are;

  • Sims 3 Base Game
  • High End Loft Stuff
  • Late Night Expansion Pack
  • Movie Stuff
  • Pets Expansion Pack
  • Supernatural
  • Town Life Stuff

And i know my computer isn't the problem, because it's a brand new top of the line gaming computer. I'll get the more specific info if needed but i don't think thats the problem.

If i could get help as soon as possible, i would be extremely greatful. Thank you!

ps. I also am not very good with computers, so if you could give me directions that are fairly easy to navigate through i would be so very greatful!

New install? Windows 8 or 8.1? Did you get a notice your video card was not accepted (being too new) ? If so what kind of card is it AMD or Nvidia?

I have Windows 7, only because i don't like the new Windows looks.  & My video card is perfectly fine, i don't know what kind it is, i'll have to go searching. Like i said before, it's definitely an in-game issue.

without knowing what specs are on your computer there is no way to tell if it is the game or your computer. this includes video card updates, driver updates etc.

if you could please post your DxDiag. To get your DxDiag , windows key +R, type dxdiag in the box and  save copy to desktop . Please copy the whole text and post it here. You will have to make several posts to post the whole text

  • Are you using MasterController in your game ? If so, you're using an outdated version of it.

You need to eiher remove it or get the newest version.

  • I'm having the exact same problem! I cleared all my caches (as per some other advice) and it didn't work. I have Windows 8 with an AMD video card. I have the following:

    Sims3 Base Game

    World Adventures

    High-End Loft Stufrf

    Ambitions

    Fast Lane Stuff

    Late Night

    Outdoor Living Stuff

    Generations

    Pets

    Showtime

    Supernatural

    Seasons

    70's 80's & 90's Stuff

and I just installed Island Paradise. I'm pretty sure that this is not the problem, as it was running badly & not showing the hair before this. Also, I seem to have "lines" on the right hand side on occasion, regularly on the startup screen. I would say this might be a video card problem, but my husband just bought this computer within the year and has already installed an updated card.
