you might have left over files and registry keys from the first installation even if you used the control panel uninstall sometimes files and registry keys can be left behind https://help.ea.com/article/manually-uninstalling-the-sims-3

at any stage was the game installed via digital downlad as that may be th efiles and registry keys you need to find
There are no EA files on my laptop anymore... >_< Even tried my hidden files, nothing.
