Can't install Sims3 from cd

I tried to install the sims3 (2012) from a cd that I haven't used in years. The cd installed the old origin app, but this will not open so that I can install the game itself. When I tried to download the game on the EA-platform, I was just told that I don't have access to the game. I still have the booklet with the serial number.

What should I do?
