Cant log into my ts3 store account from game

Hello! I have an issue where i cant log into my account from the sims 3 game (to play online), but i can log into my account on web. I have tried resetting the password, without it working. any tips?

  • @EmilieHak  Does your current password contain any special characters?  If so, that could be the issue; try using only letters and numbers.

    If that doesn't help, try clearing the cache for Internet Explorer.  Even if you never use it, the launcher and game do for some purposes.  Be sure to uncheck the box to preserve data for favorite sites.

    If that doesn't help either, open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Downloads and delete the file labeled [your email].bin, clear IE's cache again, and test.

    @puzzlezaddict There's no bin file with my email in. What cache is that? I cant find any cache file that says Internet Explorer.

    @EmilieHak  Are their any files in Downloads?  If so, please post a screenshot of the folder.

    That only applies to Windows, of course, so if you have a Mac (let me know please), clear Safari's cache instead.

    These are the only .bin files i have. i only use chrome, but i have chrome and microsoft edge on my computer. i also play ts3 on Steam, i forgot to mention that, sorry if that affects anything. I havent had this problem before, ive played online for the last couple of years without this problem.

    @EmilieHak  The file with your email address in the name is the third from the top in your screenshot.

    If you're running Windows 10, Explorer is in there somewhere, whether you've ever used it or not.

    The fact that you play through Steam shouldn't have any effect.  I do too, and I could login the last time I checked.

  • @EmilieHak I recently had issues like that. I had windows 10...laptop upgraded to 11...I used Edge...went to Chrome. Turns out all I needed to do was check for windows updates. Updated. Problem solved.
