ok I had the same problem and so far I haven't had to reinstall any games. This is what I did I followed the directions to delete cache files from

Delete everything this page says and see if it will fix your problems before you go through all the trouble of reinstalling cause it fixed mine. I tried what someone else said on this post about deleting the temp files didn't work for me.

under things to try on the first page click on faq:delete your cache files and then it takes you to Crinrict's Sims 3 Help Blog

and scroll down to the bottom where it says Game Help Sims 3 Delete Cache and click on it this takes you to the link mentioned above.
