Can't turn my sim into a mermaid

My sim isn't throwing up. The only mod I'm running is the overwatch mod. If I don't run it the game keeps freezing every few seconds (this only happens on the island map. It's sad EA still won't fix this huge freezing problem a load of people are having.)

Just as a test, can you save a copy of your sim to the library and move her into a new save and then try? I'm just curious.

I'm still having the same problem. I don't know if this helps, but I made this sim and it's a first generation.
(I've done all of those tips but deleting sims and boat houses (because that's where I draw the line). I found those tips to be OK, but you have to keep reseting the sim every 10 or so minutes. I've been able to play for about 4 hours now with very little problem with this mod running. The mod is finding some of the sims are getting stuck, and that's what was causing the problem.)
All the same, could you try a new save with the same sim?
What happens if you buy the kelp via the lifetime rewards?
As I said, I've already tried in a new save and the same thing happen.
As I said in the first post, the exact same results comes up when I buy it or not.
