You have the doppelgänger effect happening. The same people living in the same town. This is a catastrophe in the game and in the theoretical scientific world can do the same thing in real life lol!
Unfortunately, you will need to go into edit town mode.
Click on the household that you want to keep.
Save them to the library.
Quit your game.
Delete your saved game.
Start a new game and select your saved family and move them to a DIFFERENT town.
I am sorry, but there isn't another way around this that I know of.
I will see if anyone else knows a better solution.
I also have a problem when I went into Edit Town to move the weather stone.
It appeared at the school in the green space in the center of the school, where no one can get to it.
If I saved after I went into Edit Town, the game crashes

Okay. Looks like you have faulty content installed in your game.
First, if you haven't done so, please save your family to your library by going into edit town mode.
-Click on the household and save them.
-Do not bother saving your town since it will crash your game.
-You are going to close your game anyway.
-Start a new game in a different town and select your saved family from the library.
-Save your new game and name it something completely different than your previous games...like Cupcakes
You and I are going to get this fixed so that you can go back to having fun. Okay?
It may be a lengthy process but it will be well worth it in the end.
