Code won't work???

So I bought Sims 3 through steam a couple years ago, however I just now got to making an account as I want to access the other maps.

When I go to input the code I have, it's too long?

The code I have is 5 sections, but the site only allows me to enter 4.

All I want to do is link my account...

  • @LanaNGG  You'll want to use the option to "register a game," which requires 20 characters, rather than "redeem a code."  The latter is for certain store promotions, whereas the register option is for the codes that come with the base game and its packs.

Be sure to redeem your free SimPoints as well—there should be a button on the left side of the screen, once you've added the codes to your account.  You'll get 1,000 points each for the base game and World Adventures.

Alright I found that and put in the code... and Now it's saying that the code has already been used... To my knowledge I have not used this code yet since I didn't actually play enough to bother with it. Is there a way to contact someone to fix it?

@LanaNGG  You may have registered it a couple of years ago; Steam wouldn't provide you with a used code.  If you look inside Downloads in your TS3 game folder (the full path is Documents\EA\TS3\Downloads), you might find a file labeled [your email].bin; that would be the email address you used to redeem your code(s).  Even if you don't remember your password, you should be able to reset it, as long as you still have access to the email.

If you don't find that file, or you can't access your account, then you'll need to contact EA customer support.  Someone on that end should be able to help you sort things out.  It would help to have proof of purchase or ownership—in this case, a receipt from Steam would be great; otherwise, maybe screenshots of your Steam account showing a list of your CD keys—on hand for the chat.
