Collections

How can I put collected items into the folders that I create for collections? They are all empty although I have items in my collections journal and those items are in my inventory. I did put three butterflies into glass containers, which I displayed on pedestals.

Oooooh! WOW! I read your long memo/suggestion about how to use this website. Thanks. I went to Google, but I only understood how to search because you clarified that these COLLECTIONS folders are in Buy/Build mode.

Answer to part of my original question:

Collections folders turn Buy/Build mode into a department store. Instead of going to buy mode for my favorite toilet and tub, then going to build for my favorite tile and wallpaper, I can create a BATHROOM collection folder with all that stuff in one place. For example, in buy mode, don't buy the first time around. Instead, click the forth button to the right and store the idea of the purchase in the bathroom folder. Then, in build mode, click the folder button on the lower right to save the idea of the wallpaper in the same Collections Bathroom folder. Later, every time you create a new bathroom, you do not have to navigate through every department in Buy/Build mode to find all the stuff you need. All the stuff is in your customized BATHROOM department.

    Thanks.

    Thanks again!

It never occurred to me that I would want to put gems on display in my house. I put a few down, then I clicked on them to display them in different ways. They fit in the bathroom sink, the bureau.... I have butterflies on display, now. Collectors are just sophisticated hoarders! I have three art galleries (masterpiece, brilliant, and average) and have completed the lifetime wish for aquariums in the past. Why not gems, rocks, butterflies, and so on? I get it.

    Thanks.

  • Which collections do you mean ? The stuff you collect ingame or the rocks/gems/insects you collect ingame or the ones in buy/build mode where you can group similar items together ?

If you mean the first one, what folders are you talking about ?

WOW! I thought that the buy/build mode area for grouping was for the rocks/insects stuff that I run around picking up all over town. Are you telling me that those folders at the bottom button of buy/build mode is for the stuff that I have in inventory? If so, I am soooo glad to know this. I was about to delete all of this stuff that I am hoarding in my family inventory because my Sim has over ten million simpletons, and I could buy it all again, but I have upgraded many of those objects.

Back to your original question: I don't understand either. I want to group stuff in buy/build mode. I also wash to know what to do with the dozens of gems, rocks, butterflies, and stuff that my Sim is carrying around everyday.

    Please help me.

Thanks in advance. Your question is already helpful for me to search for more questions to ask.
