"Could Not Activate"

"We could not activate The Sims 3 on this computer using the EA account you provided. Please locate your product key to activate the game to activate the game using your EA Account."

There are multiple layers to this problem.

First, the game is, indeed, registered to my origin account, so something is already failing on that part since I just downloaded the game from Origin to my new PC yesterday and Origin recognizes that the game is still in my library.

Second, I don't know how to find the product key in the current lay-out for EA Origin.

Third, the "enter product key" button on this "Could Not Activate" screen does not respond at all.

Did this ever get figured out?  I've been dealing with this same problem for ages.

@EA_Mai, I have...twice, and they have not been helpful either time.  This started after I bought an expansion pack online and tried to download it to my Origin account.  First time around, they told me my account was banned by "a third party", which was absolutely not the case because I contacted the 3rd party from which I bought the game and they said they have never taken any action against my account.

This time around, they state my account was banned for "violating Terms of Service", but won't tell me what I actually did to violate ToS.  Why the differing reasons?  It makes no sense.  How can I possibly violate Terms of Service when I merely attempted to add an expansion pack to my account and never even got around to playing it?  I gave them money by buying their product and they ban me for reasons that vary depending on the day I contact them.

@amberisma Please refer to this post - link - information about banned accounts TOS (terms of service) are available onlline, when you activate a game, and in  the forums. Where did you buy the pack? You don't download to Origin - you redeem the code and then you can get the digital download version.
