I found out that the issue was actually the Grandpa's Grove lot from the store. I didn't even have them living in it but I had it placed down in the world and once I bulldozed it, it stopped the crashing.
vex_fc1 Your custom content could still be an issue if one particular item is only used in this household, or only misapplied in this one case. So please remove all your cc and test again; you don't need to save your progress when you're done.
If that doesn't help, split the household in Edit Town and see which half is the issue, then split it further, the idea being that maybe you can isolate the problem to one sim. If there are children or pets that can't be in a household by themselves, you can test them with an adult that you first confirm is fine alone.
