My sims cannot collect any insects in Sims 3. This includes: butterflies beetles fireflies nanites However, I believe all other collectibles work fine, with the exception of the underwater ones, which I couldn't test because water actions are broken The items that can be collected are: space rocks, gems, metals birds, lizards, rodents, snake, turtles wildflowers harvestable plants and mushrooms I tested this in a new save in Sunset Valley, in a clean folder.

I’m having an issue with bug collecting. I can see them clearly but I’m unable to click any of them because the mouse just becomes grayed out. I have the collectors helper thing and I can see and collect every other option except for the nanites and insects. I don’t have mods or anything so I’m not sure what to do.

GUYS I THINK I FIGURED OUT A WORK AROUND!In Ambitions, use your Inventing skill to invent a Harvester. Then use your Collection Helper and go around with your Harvester and collect insects!

This isn’t a huge issue right now but eventually I will need to be able to do this for story progression in WA. I can see insects, but they are not clickable to catch them. Have already done clean uninstall, even installed TS3 on a literally brand new out of the box MacBook Pro 2020 13inch today. Anyone else having this problem? Also my game has crashed 3 times when opening one specific chest in Egypt. No idea why. thanks!

Thanks for making this thread, I thought I was the only one who had this issue. I've done a few tests in different worlds and it didn't work with any of them. I can collect metals and gems fine, same with turtles, birds, etc. But no bugs/butterflies, etc. I guess it's not a completely game breaking bug, but it's a little frustrating that I can no longer progress in World Adventures because of it so it would be nice if it got fixed!

While sculpting the block is pure black, and looks like it's slapped on layer on top. Idk if it makes sense. It can cover my sim, like the sim is under it. I have issue with mirrors and textures too. Hair of my sims looks like old not working TV. Has this moving noise. My showers are reflecting stuff - even stuff that are behind the wall in the home. It's still playable, but it's still a bug 🙂 If you need to collect some bugs for an opportunity... Become a witch. She can transform stuff with magic and then collect it LOL.

@nessatay2223 I've merged your post with the master thread for this issue. There's no fix available, but a workaround is to use the Harvester from Ambitions to collect objects in the area of the insect.

Don't know if anyone already said this but when I transfigure stuff several times and it finally turns into a gem/rock I sometimes lack the interaction "collect". I can only view it or get i cut. Very weird, maybe related to this issue, don't know.

e65f11bd21373f25 I don't think it's related to this issue if the option to collect is present some of the time. This issue removes the ability to collect insects at all times, in all worlds.

Having said that, it would be interesting to know if there's any pattern to when the interaction is present or disappears. For example, does the camera angle matter, or the placement of the display, e.g. whether it's on the ground or a foundation or the second story? If you quit and reload, do you get the same result?
