@niamhyy9720 Have you tried playing in windowed mode with all the graphics settings on minimum? I'm not saying you necessarily need to play like that going forward, but it's a useful test. And if the game does crash again, please let me know whether it's only when you speed up the game clock or other times as well.
When testing, please use a clean Sims 3 folder: move the existing one out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop; when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. Don't add anything to it yet. Load the game to the Main Menu, put it in windowed mode (cmd-enter), turn the settings to the minimum, quit, reload, and see how it goes.
Please also let me know whether you've been playing with a pet in the family, and if so, whether it helps to not have one.
@Satinisim With the game on minimum settings, does it ever crash other than when you change the clock speed? Which packs do you have installed, and do you have a pet in the household? Please also test in a clean Sims 3 folder, as described above.
I have tried playing with and without a pet and the results were much the same but the game was definitely a lot more 'laggy' than normal with the pet, especially when trying to interact with it
The crashes have been randomly, for example when I try to switch between sims or click on an object. It freezes pretty much every time I change the game clock and I'd guess roughly 1 in 4 of those times that it freezes when changing the speed it ends up crashing, the rest of those times it eventually unfreezes after a few minutes.
