Download Error on Origin

I'm having trouble downloading the sims3 through origins on my mac desktop. I've already been through all the suggestions including running origin on administrative control. I keep getting an error and a suggestion to contact support. Error: 65546:0 <-- is what I keep getting. All my apps are up to date as is the software on my computer. I would really appreciate some help.

Thanks

  • @tygerblaze81  Does your Mac run Catalina?  If so, that's the issue: Sims 3 is a 32-bit app, and Catalina is 64-bit only.  There's no way around this issue.  However, EA has announced a 64-bit version of Sims 3 for macOS, to be released (hopefully) some time this year; given the current situation and the latest news from Apple, delays are kind of inevitable.  Here's the full announcement, and the latest update on the project:

In the interim, your only options are to play on another computer, to install Windows on your Mac (via Bootcamp or Parallels), or to install Mojave on an external hard drive or USB and boot into that when you want to play.  For the second option, you'd need enough drive space to devote to Windows and the game; for the third, you'd need at least temporary access to a Mac running Mojave or earlier.  Let me know whether you'd like more information about either of these options.

If you only recently bought Sims 3 and would rather not wait for the update, you can request an automatic refund instead:

Hi @puzzlezaddict thanks so much for the reply and the help full tips. I will deff be checking these articles out when I get back home.

My desktop is currently running on Catalina and just updated as well. I'm currently uninstalling all 32bit games as they no longer work. I use to have a windows laptop that ran on Windows10 but it's so slow that's why I transfered all my games onto the Mac a while back. I'm not sure if I have enough drive space to install windows here. As I use it for almost everything including work.

again thank you so much, this really does help.
