Download Sims 3 on Macbook Pro Retina without Disc drive?

I just got a new mac and wanted to download Sims 3.

But I don't have a disc drive to my mac so i tried to download it on Origin but when I do it say "This code has already been used".

Does that mean you can only redeem the code once? (I had it on my old mac)

If so what should I do?

Hope somebody can help!

You should be able to register the product code on Origin from the manual that came with your disc. Have you already registered your serial number under a different EA username perhaps?

    No I haven't :/

But I just called help.ea.com and they told me it's because my new Mac runs Yosemite and Sims 3 doesn't work with Yosemite.

Do you know if thats true?

It does work with Yosemite however, if you have the 13" MacBook Pro with the integrated Intel Iris graphics then I'm afraid it won't work:

The Sims 3 is not compatible on Macs which only have integrated Intel Iris graphics. If you would like to play the game on your Mac with these graphics you have to edit the GraphicsCards.sgr and GraphicsRules.sgr files. Instructions can be found here. Whilst this fix is working for some, unfortunately it doesn't seem to work for everyone.

It's quite amusing that they told you it won't work with Yosemite when it states in the system requirements it needs OS X 10.5.7 or later. Give the workaround a try, it's worth a go 🙂

You should get in touch with EA about the product code issue, hopefully they may issue you with another or merge your accounts if you've set up more than one 🙂

Yes! It a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13”, primo 2015) with Intel Iris Graphics 6100 🙂

And i did edit in those files. The problem here is when i press open game. The main screen opens and the game freeze after so I have to turn my mac off :/

The problem is because your graphics card isn't supported. I've just read on another post that someone with the Intel Iris can play with the base game and WA but adding additional EPs and SPs makes it unplayable.
