Downloaded Windows 8.1 now screen resolution is too small

I recently downloaded Windows 8.1 and went to play my Sims 3 game but now the screen resolution is too small. While playing the game I go to the option menu and try to increase the size of the screen...

I've got the same problem. I've tried making the screen resolution both in game and on my normal screen match, make them both smaller, bigger etc, and it either gets very squashed, or very stretched :/

Start with 1024X768 resolution. Then try higher resolutions. The Windows 8.1 upgrade reloads the video driver and resets all the settings.

    I tried all of them and nothing worked. Checked my graphic card driver and that's up to date too. Any ohter ideas?
