EA App Showing Sims 3 is Not Installed
(Sorry for the double post, I accidentally posted this on general discussion first and can't delete the post so I'm just copying it over here).
Hello,
When I go into the EA app, it is not showing that the Sims 3 is in my installed games and when I go into my library I now have the option to download it, even though I never uninstalled it. Also, when I go into my normal install directory for Sims 3, all of the files are there and nothing looks out of place as if the game is already installed. I'm scared about clicking the download button because I don't want to mess anything up especially since the game should already be installed. Any help would be appreciated.
NinjaAibou707 This can happen if some critical file is moved or removed, for example when an antivirus quarantines the game's executable (TS3.exe for an EA App install). The other files may be fully intact, but the App can't detect the game because the .exe is what runs the game itself.
At any rate, just download the game to its current location. The App may redownload all the data, or it may simply replace the missing file(s) and verify the rest. You won't break anything in either case. But please do make sure you're downloading to the exact location where the game is, and that that location is NOT anywhere in Documents.
