Recently I downloaded the Sims 3, an expansion pack and a stuff pack. It took three days to download and when I finally went to install them it said windows could not find an EAproxy installer. I hav...
Take a look at this thread which may give you a solution:

Hope this helps.
This does not work! I am having the same issue for my sims 3 game. When I first got the game I installed it and it all went well and nothing abnormal, played for a little while, and then for some reason my whole game screwed up on me the next day. Was kind of upset because I spent good money on this game and only played for about a couple hours.
When I had tried to uninstall my sims 3 game it has told me there was no file so I couldnt uninstal it but when I clicked the sims 3 symbol the start up menu for the game showed so was kind of confused. So my computer worked it's way through all that and now my origin has uninstalled it I believe because the game is not in my control panel programs list.
I just let my computer sit all night to what I believe was installing/downloading the game back onto my computer. It now says 100% complete but won't install. Everytime I try to install the game it says something about the EA proxy installer. I tried your method and it didn't change anything. In fact it actually told me something like the DLC or whatever it was had to be turned on and it wouldn't let me add the proxy installer to the list.
Now when I click the game its self on origin and click install it says downloading for a second and then goes off without any notifications or anything at all... Not sure if it's installed because the game isn't showing up in my programs list so I don't know what to do now but your solution did not work and I read up on it all and this solution did not work for a lot of people apparently.. I don't know what to do now kinda stuck.
Thanks.
