expansion pack error pc

Recently I have purchased The Sims 3 Supernatural Expansion Pack (disc user) and I installed it and the town is not showing up when I create a new game and I cannot create supernatural sims in the sim creator at the start of the game. it also said to update something but I checked the launcher and it shows that I have no more updates.
