Files aren’t showing up in the game

Hi guys

I’m desperately in need of help please. Recently i downloaded a mod ( I know, stupid ) and i tried to delete it safely by making a copy of my Sims 3 Map/files in downloads and then deleting the original file + deleting the mods out of the new file. Didn’t work. All my downloads are gone. When I enter the game it has fully reseted. I put my original files back from the trashcan but it still doesn’t work. Please, what do I have to do? Im so sad

  • leyyyyyz  Please list the files you restored from the trash and the full path to where you placed them.  Right-click a file and select Properties > General, then provide the Location.

Hi what do you mean with list? It’s basically the full Electronic Arts Sims 3 map that I deleted which had EVERYTHING on it. I then restored the map from the garbage thinking it would show up in my game again but it didnt. It also automatically made a new Electronic Arts map in my documents. My Icloud Drive is turned on, idk if it has anything to do with that

  • leyyyyyz  Remove the new Electronic Arts folder that the game created, and put the restored Electronic Arts folder in exactly that location.

I tried it, it automatically makes a new folder when I open sims :( I'm playing on a MacBook by the way.

  • leyyyyyz  If you delete the Electronic Arts (not 2) folder and rename the other to Electronic Arts, without the 2, does it happen again?  If so, iCloud Drive is likely the issue.  Let me know whether you need it for some purpose or would be okay with not using it, or at least not having it sync your data.

It does :( I turned my iCloud off and it still does the same thing, makes a new Electronic Arts Folder. So I basically have two of them, with the same name. The new one obviously has nothing in it.

Have you tried re-installing the game or repairing it via EA App ... If you re-install it you can re-download and re-install your downloads from the EA Store

  • leyyyyyz  There might be something wrong with the Electronic Arts folder you preserved, but perhaps only with the folder itself.  So try moving the Sims 3 folder inside to the new Electronic Arts folder the game creates, after deleting the new, mostly-empty Sims 3 folder inside there.

thelastpoet  It is completely unnecessary to uninstall the game to fix this issue, and it likely won't help either unless the OP also deletes their current data.  And they shouldn't have to do so.

I did what you said and it worked!! thank you so so much! I did re-add the mods because otherwise my dolls weren't coming up & the game was glitching. So now I have to find a way to safely remove them. Thanks again
