I'm playing a fireman but when there's an emergency, almost as soon as I click to respond the action cancels and the emergency disappears.
I have no custom content and have tired uninstalling and reinstalling. I've tried responding by clicking on thhe fire alarm, the fire engine and the map tag, but it still cancels.
Please help.

Also could you try a new savegame to see if you have the same issue (just for testing purposes, you don't need to delete the old one)
I have the same exact problem! It just cancels out every time I try to respond ☹️
I've tried a new save. In the broken game I once was able to respond to an emergency, there were none of the prompts I recieved on the new save, so something must have gone wrong early on.
After following the factory reset steps DO NOT FOLLOW THESE STEPS IF YOU HAVE A VALUED LEGACY I had to manually patch, my game wasn't being recognised, but the patch program reconned it was already installed, I told it to continue anyway. Unfortunately, even fully patched to 1.50, which it was before, the game cannot regonise my save. I've lost my legcacy ☹️
Although my original save had problems from the start, in my testing games I've noticed that as soon as I maintain the fire alarm, that's when I get problems. I've had this problem with two different sims, in fresh games based in Riverview.
Sim > Error
Jacob Jones (CAS) > Day 3, maintained fire alarm, 'Respond to emergency' action started cancelling.
Reloaded save at the end of day 2, day 3 maintained fire engine, could respond to emergency.
Reloaded save at the end of day 2, day 3 maintained nothing, couldn't respond, action cancelled.
Reloaded save at the end of day 2, day 3 maintained fire engine, could respond to emergency.

It seems to be a problem that once it first occurs, continues to do so. For a few days I was able to ignore the alarm and Jacob would go to the emergency automatically, then the command started cancelling again. I ready on the Sims forum that you could send your sim to the plot and they'd start the emergency themselves and again, that worked for a couple of days before it started cancelling itself again.
Can anyone help fix the broken game?
