Free Sims 3 to Sims 3 starter pack?

After many years, I decided to play the Sims 3 again after playing the Sims 2 that was free on Origin's On the House.

I checked the store and there was no Sims 3, just Sims 3 Starter Pack that is said I already owned.

Did people get upgraded to the Sims 3 Starter Pack from the Sims 3 at some point?

If so, how do I check to make sure I got the expansions?

If not, how do I upgrade to it?

    Hi @ShadowKazama,

    EA introduced The Sims 3 Starter Pack for new players who buy the game, but if you already own The Sims 3 base game, you can't upgrade to The Sims 3 Starter Pack even if Origin says that you own The Sims 3 Starter Pack (same thing happens to me, I have the base game but Origin tells me that I own The Sims 3 Starter Pack)

    Thank you for the reply. I had a feeling that may be the case.

    Well, I was thinking of getting some of the other add-on packs, but now feeling a bit screwed over, I guess I will spend it elsewhere. Could have been avoided if they at least offered an upgrade pack of some kind, other then spending $40 to get what should be $20 (at least for the two included in the Starter Pack).

    O'h, well. That's EA for you.
