UltimateMara You could try deleting anything in inventory with MC. The command is NRaas > MC > Town Options > Object Stats; I would choose Inventory as the subcategory. You'll get a list of items to remove. Be sure to avoid deleting your own sims' inventory items. Or you could remove everything, as a test, and only go back to be more selective if it helps.
I'd still quit and reload after purging the inventories and before testing.
I'd also like to see the error messages you're getting.
