Game Freeze - Sims freeze but plumbob, music, seasons, and all other background items continue to work

I am continuing to experience freezing in game, where only the Sims themselves and the camera freeze. All other things around them continue to move and run smoothly.

I am running

AMD 6core 1100T Processor 3.30ghz

8GB Ram

Nvidia Geforce GTX470 video card

Computer overall rating is at 7.9

The system has ample cooling and I have updated all drivers, re-installed patches, tried lowering video graphics, mods to try and reduce the amount of bugs, and i am still coming up short.

i have noticed that alot of people are having the same issue, and alot of people are getting sick of it.

Does anybody know how to fix this or how to forward the issue to EA/Maxis so this can finally be rectified.

    I am unable to enter this when the game has frozen up, and using it beforehand has seem to have done nothing, as it freezes as soon as I go into live mode.

    May have found a fix, in my case anyway. I uninstalled the base game, deleted all leftover files in the Program Files (x86)/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 directory, uninstalled Seasons, reinstalled the base game, applied the 1.42 patch and reinstalled Seasons. So far so good, no freezing at all anywhere.
