Game freezing/crashing during Sim Creation.

My game is updated to the latest version, I'm able to play just fine for the most part with a previously made character from before I updated the game, but when I am in the middle of creating a new sim, the game freezes, I ctrl+alt+delete and enter the game once again and it works for a minute or so but then freezes for the second time shortly after, only to be shut down by windows. I have my dxdiag if needed. PLEASE HELP! I love playing The Sims 3 ☹️

I chatted with an online advisor who helped me fix my problem. First I talked to someone who told me to:

    •  Right click on the Sims 3 desktop icon
    •  Go to properties
    •  Go to tab "Compatibility"
    •  Change compatibility mode to "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)"

I was then instructed to download this driver update.

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22375&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20(64-bit)*&DownloadType=Drivers%20

After downloading this update I was required to restart my computer. I opened and started the game right after it installed and restarted on my PC. My problem (thus far) is fixed. I was able to go through create a sim successfully and enter the game with my newly made sim. I hope this helps you guys as well. If any problems come up for me, I'll be sure to post them on here. Thanks 🙂

This has happened before too, I ended up reinstalling the game to it's original, base version where it worked perfectly, but is very limited compared to the newer updated versions ☹️

  • Does your computer only have that graphic chip that shows in your DxDiag or do you also have a card ? The chip is below specs,

Lowering the graphic options might help with the issue.

Thanks for keeping us updated on your progress.

I've added the Intel Link to my CTD trouble shooting post (the XP mode was already on there)
