game keeps crashing-windows 8
I just bought a desktop with windows 8 and reinstalled my base game and all of my expansions. It seemed to run ok at first but now keeps crashing after a few minutes of play. I have installed all updates.

Sims 3 doesn't crash on me with Windows 8, it just has many game play errors, lots of game play stuttering/freezing. I mean it's constant, every 3 to 5 seconds it freezes for 2 to 10 seconds or stutters and I just upgraded my Graphics card to jumps up from what I had. My system meets and exceeds the listed specs required to play. Stuff like sims trying to get to work but they get stuck in the high rise lobby until the end of their shift or they give up losing job performance. But the stuttering and freezing is just so bad I get up and I just bought seasons cause it looked cool. I've had the freezing problem after every update for about the last 3 updates. I've had problems with my purchased content becoming inaccessible after the updates, where I've had to create another account on the computer and reinstall Sims to get it back. I'm very glad we have an opt out now from that celebrity stuff, but jeez the bugs are massive at this point.

Are you trying to add the TS3W.exe file ?
I had this same problem mine kept on crashing when ever I used a cheat or did a certain action but then I disconnected my internet from the computer then it worked for a bit but still crashed but then I put it on aeroplane mode and this seemed to do the trick, I think its because people are trying to hack into your computer because windows 8 is still fairly new 😕mileyvery-happy: I hope this helped 😕mileyhappy:
