Game options reset after video driver updates.

It seems that every time my video card drivers update The Sims 3 options menu restores to default settings including lifespans and Seasons related settings not just the video settings which I have to...

    @4a7c14baff517f5e  No, you can't change the default settings.  But you can edit Options.ini, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, to change the driver version so your settings don't revert.  (This needs to be done before you launch the game again.)  Specifically, the line is lastdevice and the part that matters is the last four digits, which need to match the last four digits of the driver version.

    What I do is I keep a spare copy of Options.ini on my desktop, in case I forget about a driver update.  Then I can restore that spare copy, with the proper lastdevice line from the new copy that was reset.
