GAME UPDATE OR SUPER PATCH WONT WORK HELLPP!!

Hi, I hope this helps as i have been having the same message as you and couldn't get past the feeling I was missing something simple. this is not made clear but has worked for me so I hope it works for you. : }.

I reinstalled just the base game and nothing else and although in the uk i followed the idea given by the other person and clicked US in the loading panel but i am not sure any of that was now needed. so try this next bit first.

when you have unarchived the patch in your mac downloads and can see it with the green plumbob. click on it twice as instructed. the box that then shows is the 

select 'the sims3.app'and click update  - box

Next - where it says 'places ' with the upside down triangle - CLICK  'APPLICATIONS'

You then see  a sideways triangle next to the blue folder  next to the sims tm 3 

CLICK THE SIDEWAYS TRIANGLE and it gives you another drop down menu. 

UNDER THE CONTENTS  BLUE FOLDER you see THE SIMS 3 WITH A GREEN PLUMBOB  Click This one to highlight it then click the update button and hey presto. 

If this doesnot work for you then I amsorry. I did this by accident and it seems to have worked.
