Hi. I am having trouble getting the sims 3 to work on my new hp laptop windows 11. I do have the game installed on the laptop but everytime I try to press play I get the TS3.exe-Application Error The application was unable to start correctly(0x000007b) Click ok to close the application error. Please help I want to play my game.

From puzzleaddict on EA Answers HQ (https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/The-Sims-3-won-t-launch-Windows-11/td-p/11333296 - last post in thread):

If the Sims 3 launcher won't open at all, please manually install DirectX 9, as described here:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/Sims-3-launcher-won-t-open/m-p/10711778#M247861

If the launcher opens but the game does not, and your computer has a 12th- or 13th-gen Intel processor, please try one of the suggestions here:

Hopefully the answers are in there somewhere for you.
  • Nothing worked but luckily I still have my old computer in my closet at the minute and it ran sims 3 fine. I might just have to use it for a gaming laptop just for sims.
