Thanks for replying. I've been checking back often but for some reason this reply didn't show up on my notices.
Anyway, I've gone back to an older save from earlier in the week. It will mean a baby in the household will be reborn, possibly differently - I don't know how early they're wired to be born a certain way.
I think my problem is the overcrowded local school. I've posted a picture before about how many kids turn up, in Sunset Valley, and they're only 1st generation ... each residential household has had at least 3 or 4 kids each while I relaxed the Nraas story progression for a short while.
I would ideally like to also send most of those kids to boarding school. I tried it using Master Controller once before, with the
NRaas > MC > Intermediate > Career > Choose School > [boarding school name] ... sending 10 to each of the different boarding schools.
The next day it did seem they were absent. Clicking on the local school and checking the status showed all of them were there, possibly in the building, but I had not monitored or watched the arrivals to know if they physically went there or were just being listed. And then it seemed after a couple of days they were all back to jamming the doors and roadways during drop-off/start hour.
Am I needing a module with Master Controller to send non-active household kids to boarding school? You mentioned MC Cheats. There is also a Careers mod but from what I've read in its description on Nraas, that is for adding custom careers, and doesn't say anything about using it for coordinating schools.
I've also thought about adding a second school to divert some of the kid traffic, which I've done once before a long time ago but I remember it didn't look nice and going to prom was weird, can't remember why.
I will be micro-managing the second and third generation non-active households to reduce the population, but for now my own sims are utilising boarding school after going to one prom, one promotion, and some skills, as a teen. Maybe they can go as a kid too to avoid some of the chaos.
I mean, far out, a car ended up poking out of the main doors of the school.
I'll see if this earlier save goes better.
Otherwise ... I'll have to start a new game. Which would be a shame, I like the house, and family.
