can someone tell me where to get the codes im new at this cant figure it out

If you mean the cheat codes, like resetsim, or kaching, you hold down ctrl+shift+c, and then type "help," in the box, for a complete list. For cheats that aren't listed, type in "testingcheatsenabled true," in the blue line, above your sims screen. Then, shift+click on your mailbox, to see what pops up--only an adult sim can access these. Hope that helps!
P.S. re. the quotation marks--I'm quoting, but quotes don't go into the commands, themselves.
If you mean registration codes, they're on the back of the little packed you get with the disk.
