Household keeps error code 16ing even though there's only two sims

Been a while since I last played so I wanted to make a new game and mess around for a bit with gardening and world adventures. Everything went well I made my sims, a married couple, and got into game. However then I immediately got error code 16 trying to save so I could send them to china.

I thought it was because I was on a very large custom world but that wasn't the case, as it happened both in china and on the small EA world I moved them to while trying to fix it.

I left the game and discovered the save files had wiped themselves when I went to delete the bad saves. No matter, I had my sims in the library so I could just redo my world in a new game. This worked well for a bit until I started getting error code 16 again a good few hours into gameplay. Once again, after leaving the game the save was empty.

Furthermore, I tried a fix of moving my household out with their house and placing them back down but this led to me being stuck on the lot placement screen with no UI and forced to close the game via task manager.

I haven't had this with any other game of mine and even when I tested it with a random sim in case it was something new it didn't happen. It's just with these two sims. Both have CC hair so that might be the case but I'm unsure, if needed I can upload the household somewhere so others can analyse this. I don't get any nraas error, only the error code to go off of. Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi apologies for a bad update; I was struggling with working out how to do that and eventually got so frustrated I decided to hell with it and uninstalled my game. I'll probably reinstall at some point and see if it works now but it just got too much for me to deal with the constant disappointment on top of real life problems. I thank you for all your help though, you've been great with this.

@transonlyocean  Mods and custom content are stored in Documents, which is specific to each user account.  So you won't need to remove anything; the new account won't have access to the current account's data.  Just don't add your mods and cc or anything else when playing in the new account.
