How do I get my expansions back

I logged into my Origins account today and all my expansion packs for the Sims 3 have disappeared, all that's there is the base game.  How do I get these back??

  • @simsgirl530  Just checking, but do the expansion and stuff packs say you own them or not?  Click on the Sims 3 icon, select More > Expansion Packs (you might need to scroll down a bit to see it), and look through the list.  Let me know whether the orange buttons say Download, Details, Buy Now, etc.  Repeat for More > Stuff packs.

If you're being asked to buy the packs again, you'll need to contact EA customer support to get it sorted out.  Phone calls are unavailable right now, but live chat is open from 9 am to midnight UTC.

Yes, it says "purchased" for the University, Pets, Ambitions, and Seasons expansions, but when I click on "View In Library" it only shows the Sims 3 base game.

@simsgirl530  In your last screenshot, click on the Sims 3 icon.  Select More, which will be under the Last Played date.  Then select Expansion Packs, and look at the list.  You should see a Download button for any pack that you own but that is not installed.  You can do the same for Stuff Packs.

When I look at my list, I see an orange Download button below any pack I own but haven't installed, and an orange Play button below any pack I do have installed.  If you don't see either of these, please let me know what you do see.

@simsgirl530  So the packs are installed, but they're missing from the launcher?  Try repairing the game in Origin: right-click on the Sims 3 base game icon and select Repair.  IF that doesn't help, clear Origin's cache, and if that doesn't help either, uninstall Origin "the hard way" and reinstall.  This shouldn't affect your installed games.

If none of this makes a difference, you'll need to contact EA customer support and ask specifically about the status of the codes for your packs.  Sometimes EA deactivates codes if they were bought from unauthorized third-party sources, but those packs will still show as installed in Origin.  Right now, phone support isn't available, but live chat is open from 9 am to midnight UTC.

I tried doing the repair option and nothing happened so I did the clear cache, and just restarted my computer.  It looks like it is re-downloading the expansions so it could take a while.  But I remember them downloading like this before and they worked perfectly fine so fingers crossed.  Thank you for your help so far!
