How to install Sims 3 on Windows 8
I purchased The sims 3 starter pack. I put "The Sims 3 disk in and nothing happened. No autorun install popped up so I manually went into the cd drive and opened the sims 3 file and clicked on setup....

Maybe you have a bad copy of the game (some vital parts aren't on the disk), I have windows 8 and it works fine for me. Is the disk scratched? Maybe your disk drive is faulty. Try to run another program (movie or game) through the disk drive and if it doesn't work then it's faulty. If it does work then it's your copy of the sims and I recommend taking it back and getting a new one.

and when i try to reistall origin say there is no online login ahen my computer IS online

The disc won't install on windows 8.1 pro and probably not on 8..I couldn't get origin to install from website so I used my sims 3 disc, that worked and therefore I downloaded sims 3 from the net, but its getting hung up on the install. Im not impressed with Origin at all.

I have been trying to install the Sims 3 Starter Pack on my laptop (which DEFINITELY has the system requirements) for HOURS. I clicked on Install, then a box appeared and i accepted the terms, and then a block appeared telling me to log in to my Origin account, i logged in and then, nothing. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAPPENS. Not, AT ALL, impressed with Origin.
Can you login to your Origin Account before installing ?
So, start Origin and login ?
