How to install Sims 3 on Windows 8
I purchased The sims 3 starter pack. I put "The Sims 3 disk in and nothing happened. No autorun install popped up so I manually went into the cd drive and opened the sims 3 file and clicked on setup....

Hi, i hope this helps you! i had the same problem. I had to go out to buy sims 3 since sims 2 didn't work on windows 8. I was soooo angry and frustrated when i found it wasn't working.
I would click auto run, and it would come up and go away. then i would restart my cp and try again but the same thing happened every time!!
This is what i did:
1. go to my cp/my pc and right click sims 3.
2. click on Open in new window
3. it should/ might open in the sims disk thing
4. scroll down and find "Sims3Setup"
5. click it and see if it will work!

Ps. I found this out myself, i know a lot about computers considering i got a HD in a Computer skills Test xD not to bluff :P

Just a side note, you also have to type in the code that came with the game into origin. then it gives you an option to install the game. licencing or whatever.
