How to redeem a code for the sims 3 if you bought the game used

i bought the sims 3 dragon valley at a yard sell and it says that the code is used well i ensure that i have the code and the disc and all but i cant get it for me is there away i could use the code and if so only real resonses email me at [edit: email address removed] thanks
